I sleep about 7 hours during the week, this is not enough. Roughly 10 hours is good.

I'm 21.

I seem to survive on 5-6 hours, but my son can sleep more hours than he is actually awake. (p.s. he's 27)

Thats seven hours a night during the week (and some times weekends)

I can judge 10 hours, cause during holidays i sleep for about 10 hours a night.

i've been averaging about 5 hours a night for a while now. it's not pleasant. I'd like to be getting 7, (11pm to 6am would be perfect) but my internal clock has gone all screwy.

It might have something to do with growth. Older people tend to sleep fewer hours then, say, teenagers.

unless they have chronic fatigue, or ross river virus, and they don't know about it.

When I was 17-19 I used to be able to go straight from the night club to work without sleep and do fine, whereas now I seem to need at least 6 hours of zedland to function well the next day. Of course, my general physical condition is not as good now as it was then.

in the school holidays i was surviving on less than 5 hours of sleep a night, mainly because the doscovery and geographic channels had some really great docos on and i would stay up a little bit late to watch them, but now that i'm back at school, if i get less than 8-9 hours of sleep a night i'm apt to start acting cranky, snapping at people and feel like bursting into tears for no particular reason. you do not want to know me on these days.

Hi there

I love sleep, but due to personal and professional stresses I am sleepping about 3 hours a night. It is horrible an dI feel awful because of it. My work performance also suffers. Tonight I am going to listen to relaxation music as I retire to try to aid sleep.

i saw on a chart that my age (11) you shoul have at least 9 and a 1/2 hours sleep so for each yer it goes up or down by 1/2 an hour so you can work it out from there.

so when your 30 you need no sleep i dont think that is true, but it is a good rule of thumb for general amount.

I can get by quite happily on 5-6 hours a night. If I sleep more than that, it is generally a good sign that I'm coming down with something.

I can't sleep at all during the day, regardless of how dark the room is.

When I was a manager, I would typically get about 20 hours a week which totally screwed me up big time. So I quit.

The really annoying thing is that my partner likes to operate on about 10 hours sleep, which kinda creates a few problems, but nothing too serious. My ex used to like nothing more than to sleep a MINIMUM of 14 hours (must have been a cat in a previous life). He'd operate quite well on 6 hours, but he just liked sleeping.
