Anyone
got some good debunking info?
The
http://www.skepdic.com/ Skeptic's dictionary is the
best skeptical resource on the net if you want to debunk New Age crap,
pseudosciences, pseudoarcheology, catastrophism on ancient myths, and
quackery. The CSICOP site is useful as well, although not as good as the
skeptic's dictionary. There's a heap of material on UFOs and ET's, and if
you are interested in 'alternative' scientific ideas the 'Journal of
Scientific Exploration' is probably the best source.
As for books,
Carl Sagan's books are a great place to start to get into the general
mindset of skepticism. The http://www.skeptics.com.au/"
Australian Skeptics also have some useful material,
including the 'No Answers in Genesis' page. Another great resource for
debunking creationism and intelligent design is the www.talkorigins.org/
Talk Origins site. Also, you should look out for these
skeptical authors:
James Randi (psychic abilities, ESP and
astrology) Phillip Klass (UFOs and Aliens) Carl Sagan (Astronomy,
UFOs, Aliens, Skepticism in general) Ian Plimer
(Creationism) Stephen J. Gould (Paleontology, Creationism) Richard
Dawkins (Creationism) Martin Gardener (Pseudoscience and
Crackpottery) Susan Blackmore (Conciousness and ESP) Rob Todd Caroll
(Skepticism)
Prometheus books also publishes a lot of material on
the paranormal, inlcuding the main skeptical
books.
