What is the position of the
Skeptics society on spontanious human combustion?
If the same rule
of it being a 'bugger to catch sceintifically' could be applied to psychic
stuff...
Not those guys on TV, but the guy who sleep through a loud
alarm, missing an accident on the road he uses. Or the feeling you get,
somthing you can't pin, that stops you walking into a very uncomfortable
situation.
Or the regular 'sombody is looking at me' and spinning
around and looking straight into sombodies eyes?
Yeah, yeah, I'm
flaming up fires of that old psi stuff. I really don't know why
anymore.

I don't know what the position of
the Asustralian Sceptics is towards SHC (Spontaneous Human Combustion),
but I can assure you, there has never been a properly documented instance
of SHC, where a combustion source was not identified. The accepted theory,
is that SHC occurs, when a person is incapacitated, dead, drunk or asleep.
The person is ignited and usually burns in an atmosphere where there is
only small access to oxygen. Burning occurs very slowly and completely.
Tests on animal carcasses have proven this to be an accepted method of
combustion.
As to your other 'theories'. There are usually good,
clear explanations, for everything which humans see, hear, smell, or
'sense'. I find dogs interesting, for instance. My dog seems to be able to
determine a person who fears dogs, with unerring accuracy. I wondered how
it was possible, until I watched her carefully. She makes a VERY SLIGHTLY
agressive move towards ALL strangers. If that stranger moves back, even
slightly, she knows that she has the upper hand and treats the person
accordingly. Humans work on a similar level. Much of how we interact with
other people occurs on a level, which we don't notice. Part of our
primitive brain, does know what is going one, however. That is how we
'sense' danger. We are processing information on a level which our
conscious mind is unaware of.

I've pondered the subtle actions
as a good sense of what is happening.
I've wondered if people could
'telepathically' comunicate by indicating messages subconciously to
others(a eyebrow flicker, a movement of the hands, scent glands), this
information could then be 'addressed' to another individual. Many humans
pass it along, till it hits the right person!
A sort of internet of
the subconcious!
Well, it sounds silly, but in a way it would be
quite workable on the concious level...after all, we talk all the time,
with our mouths, why not communicate in other, more sdubtle
ways?
