Does time require change?

What does E=mc2 actually mean? And what's relativity all about?
E=mc2 (1) and
E=mc2 (2).
Deriving Einstein's Mass-energy relation.

Was Einstein the first to say E=mc2? Is there a need for an "ether"?

What the #$%^ is mass?
...and how does it relate to weight, inertia and so on?
What the #$%^ is mass?

Where does mass and inertia come from?
Inertia and Mach
Mach's Principle

Does gravity accelerate light?
Gravity

What is time dilation? Can you explain the twin paradox?
Observers in relative motion have different perceptions of the rate at which time flows. The theory of relativity explains time dilation.

What would happen if you went back in time and killed your grandmother?
Nobody is sure, but here are a few ideas:
Time travel
Back in time
Time travel
Time and space travel.

What is the speed of gravity?
Probably the same as the speed of light.
Speed of gravity to be measured
Speed of gravity measured

Do things get heavier as they go faster?
Their rest mass does not increase, but their relativistic mass does.
Mass and velocity.

How does matter bend space?
How does matter warp space?

Will it ever be possible to travel faster than light?
Perhaps.
Speed of light
(Dr. Karl has this to say.)
Avatar Chris has written a tutorial about this:
Tutorial: Faster than Light.

If you travel faster than the speed of light, do you go back in time?
You might, but relativity has a few things to say about faster than light travel.
Speed of light/time.

I heard that scientists made a light pulse travel at 300 times the normal speed of light.
This was a real experiment, but the effect doesn't violate any known physical laws.
Pulse moving faster than light?

My rocket is travelling at 0.9 times the speed of light and I throw a ball forward at 0.2 times the speed of light. Isn't the ball travelling faster than light?
No. Common sense ideas for adding speeds don't work near the speed of light. We need relativity.
Faster than the speed of light.

If the speed of light is known, what is the speed of darkness?
speed of darkness

What did Sir Isaac Newton have to do with all this?
See Chris W's excellent tutorial.
Tutorial: Newton

Can particles communicate faster than the speed of light?
Yes, but we can't use this to send messages.
Faster than light
Instantaneous or back in time.

I've heard that some particles travel faster than light.
These particles are called Tachyons. So far, they are only theoretical.
Tachyons
Faster than the speed of light.

How do they measure the speed of light? .
