Dynamical tunneling? What is it?
Dynamical tunneling can be defined as a quantum process that is classically forbidden by the conservation of a quantity different in general from the total energy of the system.

BEC questions?
If I had a BEC of He and a BEC of Li could I mix them together?
2.Can a compound become a BEC?
3.What would happen if I dropped a cold C60 atom into a BEC of He?
4. What would happen if I dropped a cold C60 atom into a BEC of He under pressure just as the BEC was about to undergo a Bosanova?
5. What is the density of BEC?

Artificial atoms are a reality, Here is my vision of their future.
Their future is just unfolding and maybe just maybe there is a 99% chance it will be this.
Artificial atoms are being made today.

What are spin-polarized currents?
Are they excitons as well?

I have just read in Nature vol. 410 page 155 that the orbiton has just been observed for the first time. It also states that these and other quasi-particles like phonons, holes, excitons, magnons and plasmons are just as real as electrons and that the prefix quasi is unnecessary. This means that there are a lot more real particles in the atom than just the proton electron and neutron and their gluons and quarks.

There are excitations called quasi-particles and spin excitations. What are they, exactly, and where do they form? Is it outside the Fermi sea or Fermi surface?
A new excitation was discovered that has something to do with whether the f orbital electrons are part of the Fermi sea or not, it is regarded as a Fermi surface shredder.
Is it shredding the Firmi surface? How do the other two excitations relate to the Firmi surface?

Square electrons are flat?
Hey they don't come in cubes do they?

Quantum observations? I noticed this common statement in you writings "The act of observation has changed the result (this is typical of the quantum world)." Why is the word observation used?

Is it possible to find one cubic centimetre of space without a photon in it?

Maxwell meets Schrodinger.. Has anyone read the hypothesis published in Nature this week. It shows that quantum mechanics must reduce to classical mechanics under circumstances defined by quantum mechanics itself

What's a particle?
1 My questions are what defines a new particle ( or wave)?
2 Is it a definition of activities within a defined activity?
3 If you could find two or three carrier aspects within momentum lets say ......alphaism, betaism and gammaism could you say you have discovered a ......new particle called a momentumion ?
4 Is a phonon described as a particle and a wave?

Nanobridges ..They (www.nature.com) claim that the observation of saturation of the thermal conductance in nanobridges is the first demonstration of quantum physics in nanomechanical structures. Would you agree with this, or do you think it has been observed in Josephson junctions?

When you split a quark, you get another quark, so what is beside a quark? Is space just a soup of very low energy quarks linking every photon, neutrino and particle black or otherwise?

Listed below are a series of web sites dealing with quantum mechanics.

Brief Review of Elementary Quantum Chemistry A text-book format covering quantum mechanics, written by C. David Sherrill, Dept. of Chemistry, University of California, Berkeley.

Visual Quantum MechanicsThe Visual Quantum Mechanics project involves the development of instructional units that introduce quantum physics to high school and college students who do not have a background in modern physics or higher level math. This site provides access to online interactive programs. Also includes a project summary, and information that allows one to create interactive multimedia simulations without programing.

Mark's Quantum Mechanics Applets A collection of Java applets illustrating quantum mechanical processes.

Do Quantum Particles have a Structure?: Relativity and Quantum Mechanics Unified
A research paper discussing the relationship between relativity and quantum mechanics. Written by T.S. Natarajan, Dept. of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology.

Postulates of Quantum Mechanics
Need I say more. Mathematical formulas are included.

Limits to the Universality of Quantum Mechanics
Contains a paper written by Brian D. Josephson which considers quantum theory as a basis to the understanding of life. Paper was based largely on Niels Bohr's discussion.

The Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics
This paper by John G. Cramer was originally published in Reviews of Modern Physics 58:647-688, July, 1986.
